BACKGROUND OF THE EVENT
We searched in Vietnam to offer a unique trip and a genuine experience off the beaten track to raise awareness to protect Mother Nature. Madagui Trophy, the Adventure Race sponsored by the natural juices Le Fruit, is held in and around Cat Tien National Park in Lamdong province to explore the deepest depths of the Vietnamese jungle, a stunning primary forest currently in danger of deforestation. Since the creation of this Adventure Race, Event organizers, Viet Adventure, are utilizing the Madagui Trophy as a vehicle to raise money for a local environment project devoted to helping build the local community and fight deforestation with social and environmental programs under a Sustainable Agro-Forestry Project lead by WWF. Madagui Trophy is not only a sport challenge on many disciplines, it has now become a myth in Asia. It is billed as ‘the most amazing adventure race in Asia’, ‘a true and unique Jungle Race’.

THE FOURTH EDITION
Adventure racing is a sport of both mental and physical greatness. On Sunday, March 6th 2011, Madagui Trophy was challenging the participants beyond limits in their own mind. The 170 athletes that met in Lamdong Province for the fourth edition of the Madagui Trophy know that adventure racing takes training, specialized gear, and certain skill knowledge. Almost half of the competitors in the Madagui Trophy were coming from abroad this year to discover the so famous Vietnamese jungle.

THE ULTRA RACE
For the Ultra race departure at 3am the participants woke in a terrible haze. The fog was so thick, the racers could not see the marking of the trails. Running ahead, most of the racers were soon lost in the rainforest. They had to feel the trees as they walked. Finally, Baptiste du Chaffaut the professional guide of Viet Adventure took his GPS to navigate through the hostile jungle and guide the group of racers back to the marked trail.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Viet Adventure’s commitment on the environment protection is a priority while organizing such events. Net proceeds are donated to the sustainable project of agro-forestry lead by WWF. It is also Viet Adventure’s intention to develop sport and understanding at the grassroots level and bring new athletes to our adventure race to understand the importance of forest protection.
