Ramdung Peak (5930m), the hidden peak Ramdung Peak, Nepal is situated on the border of Tibet. This is one of several appealing small peaks south of Na, best approached by crossing the Yalung La. Ramdung Peak is situated south of the Tesilabtsa pass, which borders Khumbu and the immense Rolwaling valley. Crossing the pass into the remote valley of Rolwaling takes the team to the rarely climbed peak of Ramdung. The climb of this ‘hidden peak’ of the Himalayan wilderness begins with a trek into the Rolwaling valley, just recently opened to trekkers. The approach is quite long with two camps above Kyiduk required. The expedition team makes an ascent up lower Ramdung, which offers a challenging climb, requiring two high camps on the Ramdung glacier on the northeast face route from the Yalung La.
The Expedition Team The team for the Himalayan expedition consists of Jean-Luc VOISIN, Marc CAMPET, Christopher GRAHAM, Sylvain LACLADERE, Lionel CATHELIN and Lucy HOUGHTON, all with individual qualities which will contribute to the success of the expedition.
